Including Kids on the “High End” of the Autism Spectrum at Church - Dr. Steve Grcevich - Media # 24403

$ 10.00

The presence of a child with autism decreases family church attendance by 84%. Nearly 60% of children with autism are of normal intelligence and resist "special needs" ministry designed for kids with intellectual disabilities. Mental health concerns common in autism often exacerbate their challenges at church. This breakout will introduce approaches for including them into the full range of children’s ministry programming by incorporating mental health ministry strategies with established approaches for serving youth with autism.

Speaker: Dr. Steve Grcevich

Stephen Grcevich M.D. is a child psychiatrist and President of Key Ministry, an organization dedicated to helping churches welcome families of kids with hidden disabilities. Dr. Grcevich’s primary ministry focus involves training church leaders on models for serving families of children with emotional or behavioral disorders.
